Mistakes to avoid
- Print method changes the US line, not the duty. Decorative paper stickers printed by lithography go to 4911.91.20; other printing, such as digital, goes to 4911.91.40. Both are free.
- Vinyl declared as paper is the expensive mistake. Vinyl stickers belong in Chapter 39 and pay duty; declaring them as printed paper understates the duty.
- “Vitrifiable” decals (4908.10) are fired onto ceramics or glass. Ordinary stickers are never vitrifiable.
