Privacy
HS-Code.net does not ask for an account. Codes you type into the checker are looked up in your browser; we record only whether a checked code was valid and how many digits it had, not the code itself.
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which guides and tools are used. It sets the cookies _ga and _ga_*, which last up to two years. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics cookies are off by default and Google receives only cookieless measurements. Advertising features are off for everyone. You can also block analytics with Google's opt-out browser add-on or your browser's cookie settings.
The site is served by Cloudflare, which keeps standard server logs for security and reliability. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts.
HS Code Lookup browser extension
The HS Code Lookup extension for Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Firefox collects no data. The tariff schedule is bundled inside the extension, so codes and words you look up never leave your browser, and it sends no analytics. It stores only the last thing you looked up and which tariff revision it has, on your own device.
Twice a day the extension downloads a small version file from hs-code.net/data/ext/ and, when the US International Trade Commission has published a new revision, the new data file. These requests contain nothing you looked up; like any web request they reach Cloudflare's standard server logs. Its permissions are used for the right-click menu ("Look up in the US tariff schedule"), for handing the selected text to the popup and remembering the installed revision, and for scheduling the update check.
